ISRAEL AT WAR! EMERGENCY RESPONSE!
This is Joel Chernoff of the MJAA’s Joseph Project. I’ve just returned from Israel and can tell you from seeing it firsthand, the situation is terrible. Thousands of rockets were launched by Hamas (sponsored by Iran) from Gaza in the early hours of the morning of October 7th.
But it hasn’t stopped there. This war rages on!
Hamas continues to launch rockets into civilian areas. Hezbollah is threatening cities in the north. This is an unprecedented incursion into Israel by terrorists bent on wiping the Jewish people off the face of the earth.
Thousands of Israelis have been murdered to date, hundreds of Israeli civilians kidnapped, and thousands more wounded from the attacks that hailed from the Gaza Strip. Sadly, we expect the death toll to continue rising.
I myself was woken up in the night by rockets being knocked down by the Iron Dome.
At the moment, thousands are displaced with only the clothes on their backs. They are plagued with shock and deep despair. One of our partners in Jerusalem gave me this report when I arrived:
The terrorists arrived at nine AM and went from house to house… They killed, kidnapped people to Gaza, and set the houses on fire…
A few survivors gathered in one of the parks in the evening… and today they are being evacuated.
It’s incomprehensible; they kidnapped children, women, and the elderly who could barely walk… And no one knows anything.
And this morning, 24 hours later, we still don’t know anything about who was killed and who was kidnapped.
We must help them. We can lament, but we cannot only lament. We can weep, but we cannot only weep. We must act — or more people will die. We must rush aid to the hardest-hit areas. People need food — medicine — mothers need diapers for their babies — The poorest of the poor urgently need household goods, clothing, shoes, beds. Some are disabled but without wheelchairs or walkers, without even crutches.
Please give your best possible gift. Jewish people will suffer, even die, if we don’t help. Please do whatever you can right now!
